No matter at what point in your life you are now – the moment you realize that you are the master and creator of your own destiny and that you have to look inside to change the outside – incredible things can happen. Taking full responsibility for your life includes the risk of making mistakes and leaves you without the common excuses (society, my boss, my family, my age etc…), but it also creates options, space and power. The power to change situations, or at least change the way you choose to deal with those situations or obstacles that life puts into your way.

I studied a career I didn't like for five years, to later go on and work eleven years in a job I didn't like. When I got fired from it at the end of September 2013 it was a blessing in disguise. After the initial shock I decided to apply what I learned in my coaching training. I started writing down my goals, writing down three things I was grateful for every day and studied more than in the 20 years before.

It was during that time when I found out that all the knowledge in the world is useless if you don’t APPLY it. All the personal development and growth exercises are useless if you don’t DO them over a constant period of time! All the books you read are useless if you don’t put part of what they teach in PRACTICE. You might still be better off than those who don’t read, but the fun starts when you apply what you have learned!

Our habits make our life

In April 2014 I sat down to write my own book. One that I wanted to write for 15 years, but I was only talking about it, not putting one word to paper. I applied what I learnt and convey as a coach:
Small steps, consistency, persistence, perseverance and developing positive habits will make you reach any goal.

Nine years later my books have now sold over 750.000 copies.
The book has been translated into over 25 languages and been published by major publishers worldwide. Thanks to my new habits I went from jobless to become a speaker, corporate trainer, business school professor, mentor coach of a Business Chamber and founder of my own publishing company. 

I firmly believe that anyone creates their own destiny based on their beliefs, thoughts, feelings and actions. You can’t always control what happens to you, but you CAN control HOW YOU REACT to what happens to you. You can achieve your goals if you put in the work. Thanks to the field of Positive Psychology we now have the scientific proof for this.

For more than 25 years I have studied all kinds of philosophies, reading the works of Jane Roberts, His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Dr. Joseph Murphy,  Anthony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle, Wayne W. Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Paolo Coelho, Robin Sharma and many others.
